I tried going to the Command Prompt (Admin) and typed CHKDSK /p and it told me "Invalid parameter - /p"

It's been about 4 days since I've had this issue. My computer was running really slow, so I checked the Task Manager and saw that a "System" process was running under the name "ntoskrnl.exe". I thought it was a virus or a rootkit. I ran Windows Defender and nothing was detected. I just did a clean install of my operating system last night, and I'm checking my processes and the same issue is persisting.
I have an HP Pavilion m7 1015-dx.
If the problem is persisting like I think it is, can this be a hardware issue?

2015-08-10T02:26:39+00:00 I was thinking the same thing. This should have been resolved with an update. it is frustrating to have my machine have to wait, and wait to just be able to open a web page. I'm seriously thinking of getting a Mac my next time around too.

2015-08-10T00:24:12+00:00 After reading Funkmaster's note I found my way into these settings on Windows 10. Surprisingly under the selection of balanced or performance I'd found my original Dell recommended setting that the minimum that they recommended was 5% ! If you have a Dell those settings were never deleted only replaced.

2015-08-10T00:12:26+00:00 Its a 100% disk usage problem in all Windows 8 Versions. In task manager programs like services and system.exe consumes .5-1 MB/s and shows a disk usage of 100% and make other running programs unresponsive.
Its a major problem in windows 8 and still Microsoft is not doing anything regarding this!!
Are we supposed to face this problem until the next release of Windows or is there any way to fix it permanently??
Window 10 is worse, if I'm unable to roll back I'll save, format and reload Windows 7. Pretty much had it with Microsoft, my next computer will be an Apple.

2015-07-14T15:09:58+00:00 I had very similar symptoms and used SMART HD tools to determine it was my HD. Bed sectors resulted in excessive read times.
