MSVCP100.dll Missing.

I have window 10 and whenever I try to play any game a msg pop up that says msvcp100.dll is missing

Im getting the following error while using Reporting in VS2012.

The procedure entry point _crtgetfileinformationbyhandleex could not be located in the dynamic link library

c:\windows\system32\msvcp120_clr0400.dll

Can anyone help me in solving this issue, please?

I had this exact problem. A number of applications and services couldn't run because MSVCP100.DLL was missing. The crazy thing about this is that it didn't start immediately after Win 10 installation. The problem actually started a day later. Of course the file was actually exactly where it should have been in the system32 folder.

I was at my wit's end and in desperation downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2015. It took over an hour to download and install, but afterward everything worked again.  I have to wonder if Microsoft actually tested this operation system outside a development environment. I wonder if I can now uninstall the development environment since I am not a software developer.

I am well informed that Windows 10 was BETA Tested by their user professionals for some 6 months before it was launched, The problem is that they were ALL working on Clean Installations, no upgrades, so Microsoft failed to find these upgrade incompatibilities. Through shear perseverance I found my problem and no doubt many others also.

When migrating from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I experienced the same problem. 

This worked for me: Copy files msvcp100.dll and msvcr100.dll from C:\Windows.old\WINDOWS\SysWOW64 to C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
