Lumia 1020 Camera Won't Hold Focus

When using my 1020, I hold the shutter button halfway down to let it autofocus. It proceeds to do so briefly, but as I push the button, it loses focus and results in blurry photos. The manual focus does a little better. If I tap to focus, I can usually get the focus I want after 10 or so tries. This issue comes up at any focal distance.

Is the camera broken?

    sir, the problem with the camera still persists, i own a lumia 720 and the phone worked fine for almost 2 years, but after the denim update the camera couldn't focus. please help me out with this. i visited nokia care and they are charging 1500rs for this. should i get it repaired or should i wait for update or something. coz i dont think there any issue with the phone or its hardware.

    My phone has been with the local repair center for two weeks and they still can't fix it. They have replaced the camera and now the circuit board.  I think I may need to replace my 1 year old phone ... very sad.

    Dear Microsoft Support Engineer,

    I have the same problem with my Nokia 1020. It does'nt focus properly anymore. After about 10 times trying it does focus right sometimes.

    Please help :s. I used to make such beautifull pictures with it.

    I have the same issue. Having used it now for 1,5 years it is very frustrating. Is there a SW or hw fix?

    .....

    Ok brought the phone to a repair shop were they fixed the screen previously. They replaced the camera module and now it works again. So this was a HW issue the showed up after time, probably caused by the drop I had that also broke the screen.
