In 2013, Microsoft was fined €561 million by the EU for making abuse of its position, partially because it favoured IE over other browsers on the market. The simple fact that you MUST have IE or Edge as your default browser in order to use a homegroup shows that this abuse is still going on.

European customers should report to the commisionner for competition, ******@ec.europa.eu

For me the answer is yes. Yes that is the entire error message. So, what's the solution? Making IE my default browser is not the correct answer because IE is my default browser. It isn't normally as it's horrible, but since upgrading to windows 10 (a big mistake! Wish I had 7 on this computer so I could revert back to it.) I have not installed any 3rd party browsers as my default. I have only changed the default from Edge, or whatever it was that came w/10, because it was 10 times worse than IE, to IE. Therefore IE is the default browser, and I still get the same error message. Thank you and awaiting an answer. A general fix would be best, one that will allow it to print regardless of the default browser. It is wrong to force anyone to use a certain browser to print something that has nothing to do w/a browser. I can print everything else w/out IE. As such I should be able to print this.

That is.. HIllariously freaking stupid. WIn 10 is so broke,,, it wont print the Homegroup password using its OWN default browser, Edge, for this function. Printer appears magically when I swap to IE. Bravo Microsoft for putting out ANOTHER broken product.

The real issue is forcing us to IE at all.  It is not an option. I will NOT comply. I will NOT be assimilated.  It's still broken in Win 10.

I tested this by changing the browser to IE.  I tried to print the homegroup and it send it to the browser then I can print.. but, I can also then choose to send it to Chrome or any other browser and it will.  Try just assigning a default browser.  It doesn't have to be IE.. but, you may have to try IE first.      I am using Windows 10 and it ask me with which program I want to open when printing the homegroup password.  I chose chrome.. It opened chrome and I printed from there.   I had to set a default browser first in Window 10 app defaults.

It may not let you choose Edge first.. You may have to try IE first then choose another browser.
