Copy and Paste Feature Not Working in Windows 8

Hi,

This is probably the wrong forum to post this question in. But I am running a Windows 8 Pro 64bit machine, and I am experiencing problems with the Copy, Cut and Paste feature in windows explorer, where I try to copy a directory or file from one location to another but it does not work. I do have permission rights. Is this a bug in the operating system?

    Please define what RDP is?  Thanks!

    Microsofts Remote Desktop Protocol. (RDP.)

    I use it all day at work to remote to my servers. RDP supports copy/paste or the Windwos Clipboard so it makes sense to me.

    I read someone else found closing the Onenote system tray app helped them resolve this issue for them too. I would suggest there is a problem with the clipboard API or something in Windows 8.

    In the last 24 hours I have encountered this issue with copy and paste not working on my Win8.1 x64 machine.

    Thanks for the tip Fireboss(2)!

    It would appear that the lastest verion of RDP at the time of writing is the program at fault in my instance. I just closed down all my RDP sessions and copy/paste is suddenly working for me again and without having to reboot my machine.

    Hope this helps other people too. :)

    Hi I've also been having an issue with copy and paste, and drag and drop. 

    I've spent about 5 hours researching and trying all the fixes microsoft has suggested on these forums to no avail. 

    Low and behold I solved my problem.  I was going to the DUMB@$$ APS thing to get to my pictures and my external hard drive and apparently you cannot copy and paste or drag and drop from the APS to your desktop or external drive!  I know probably too simple for any forum experts, and isn't the issue that some have, but you might want to let people know about this FIRST!

    Just use file manager, forget about using the APS.  What are these for anyhow?  Just make things confusing.

    I'm having issues with something sort of similar.  It's more than just copy and paste though.  When I right click to try and highlight an area I want to bold, italic, underline, copy, delete, etc... the highlighted portion keeps jumping around the words and won't stay on the area I am trying to change.  It takes me about 10 tries before it finally works. VERY annoying.  This thread is the closest thing I have found to my problem. 

    I tried Method 1 above and got this message:

    Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.  Details are included in the CBS.log winder\Logs\CBS\CBS/log.  Not that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios.

    What should I do now?  Some guidance would be greatly appreciated as this problem is really costing me a lot of precious time, not to mention aggravation!
