lighting bolt and gear icon

My Nokia Lumia 920 shows the lightning bolt and gear icon. does not start and is frozen on that icon.

So lets try this and see if it helps.

Hard Reset using buttons:

Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power until the phone vibrates. Then release the Power key and keep pressing the Camera + Volume Down for a few seconds.

A HAD SAME PROBLEM TOOK OUT MEMORY CARD ATTACHED TO LAPTOP AND PRESSED VOLUME <DOWN> AND POWER BUTTON AND IT CAME ON

    Verizon only provides the data and cellular service, it is Microsoft's phone OS.  So it is either MS OS or Nokias hardware issue.

    I took it back to Verizon.  The tech said that the phone crashed and they could not recover it.  They would need to replace the phone.  Now I have to wait until Monday before I have a cell phone! 

    This sucks.  I have always been a true die hard Microsoft person, I love my Zune, my windows 8 PC, Laptop and tablet.  But I am feeling a bit burnt with the Lumia 928 phone.
