Service Pack 2 for Office 2010 update fail - Error 8024002D

Hello,

I can't install this update, apparently because it is looking for something called "SingleImageWW.msi" and not finding it.

Manually download and install the SP2 :-

http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=39667 (32 bit)

http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=39647 (64 bit)

If unsure of whether or not you're running 32 bit or 64 bit, refer to this thread:

If you still have trouble, try updating in a clean boot state:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-au (don't forget to return to normal boot when finished).

Office updates can fail if the update files are looking for the original installation files.

Sometimes downloading the full file remedies that problem or putting the installation media in the installation drive can also assist.

If still failing, perhaps you'll need to perform a repair install.

    Contact the manufacturer of your PC regarding how to repair Office 2010 so that you can update it.

    Looked at this advice as suggested by Geethu B:

    Not much help, as the only specific tips for the problem I am having (i.e. getting this error when installing a service pack) relate to Office 2003 or Office 2007. 

    Also tried manually downloading and installing the update as suggested by TaurArian, both with normal startup and clean boot state..

    No luck. It still fails because IT IS NOT FINDING THE FILE SingleImageWW.msi in the directory C:\MSOCache\All Users{90140000-003D-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}-C

    This directory exists in my system, but there is NOTHING IN IT. I tried downloading a copy of SingleImageWW.msi from the web and putting it in this directory, but this didn't work either.

    MSOffice came pre-installed on my computer and I don't have an installation CD. I have a vague memory that the installation files are in some hidden partition somewhere, but I can't remember how to access this...

    Having the same problem. Hope Microsoft sort this out soon. If you search for 8024002D, you get loads of suggestions for registry cleaner sales. Beware, they make things worse.

    Pretty  Please Microsoft sort this one out. Strange thing, the SP2 download worked ok with my laptop.
