Hello
I got a call from a guy with a really heavy Indian accent claiming to be working with Microsoft.
He told me that my computer had multiple problems.
He then told me to hit the Window icon on my keyboard and R (Which is to activate Run)
After that, he told me to type in "www.ammyy.com" and hit enter.
Right when he said that, I got suspicious.
I checked their website and it seemed legit.
I decided to google "AMMYY" and I saw "AMMYY scam"
I checked lots of posts having the EXACT same thing
-Indian guy
-AMMYY
-Computer problems
-Work for microsoft.
I hanged up and shut down my computer just in case. (I"m paranoid)
I turned back my computer on and the guy called me again.
He asked me why did I hanged up and I told him it was an accident.
He asked if I downloaded AMMYY yet.
I told him this "I ain't getting my computer hacked today, buddy." and hanged up again.
I ran a full computer scan with Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security.
(Which I trust since it went with my computer)
So my question.
Who are these guys?
How many people work with them?
Why aren't they sued yet?
Is my computer safe?

You're fine. They cold called you and have no access to your PC since you didn't install anything or allow them to connect to your PC.
Avoid scams that use the Microsoft name fraudulently - Microsoft does not make unsolicited
phone calls to help you fix your computer

I googled it as it came up on our laptop screen that the website and the app they got us to download was a virus!! They kept ringing back and I ignored them! I eventually answered and I said it was a virus and they keep ringing trying to say it's not a virus!! It's because there are viruses on the laptop!! They will not stop ringing!! They've also withheld their number so can not report it!! What do I do!?

I've also told them I'm with the FBI and that we know they're financing the terrorist group Lashkar e Taiba, and please stay on the call so we can finish our satellite lock on your present location. Then partly muffle the phone and say something like, "Yes, Colonel, we just need another 60 seconds."
They rarely call back after that.

2016-07-04T22:57:08+00:00 I found a lot of people on YouTube who use Virtual Machines to mess with theses scammers so they can waste their time, keeping them from actually scamming people who would fall for this scam. Some videos are boring but some are very funny videos. Wasting the time of these scammers help out a lot of people plus you could also try to pick up the IP address of the scammers while holding them on the line.
