Hello
I got a call from a guy with a really heavy Indian accent claiming to be working with Microsoft.
He told me that my computer had multiple problems.
He then told me to hit the Window icon on my keyboard and R (Which is to activate Run)
After that, he told me to type in "www.ammyy.com" and hit enter.
Right when he said that, I got suspicious.
I checked their website and it seemed legit.
I decided to google "AMMYY" and I saw "AMMYY scam"
I checked lots of posts having the EXACT same thing
-Indian guy
-AMMYY
-Computer problems
-Work for microsoft.
I hanged up and shut down my computer just in case. (I"m paranoid)
I turned back my computer on and the guy called me again.
He asked me why did I hanged up and I told him it was an accident.
He asked if I downloaded AMMYY yet.
I told him this "I ain't getting my computer hacked today, buddy." and hanged up again.
I ran a full computer scan with Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security.
(Which I trust since it went with my computer)
So my question.
Who are these guys?
How many people work with them?
Why aren't they sued yet?
Is my computer safe?

You're fine. They cold called you and have no access to your PC since you didn't install anything or allow them to connect to your PC.
Avoid scams that use the Microsoft name fraudulently - Microsoft does not make unsolicited
phone calls to help you fix your computer

2013-09-30T16:26:35+00:00 We received a similar call yesterday (Sunday, Sept. 29) at 12:17 p.m. (Eastern time) from a BLOCKED CALL.
The man claimed he was calling about our Microsoft OS computer. He also mentioned a warranty. I asked which computer he was calling about. He said Microsoft OS. I said Dell, he said "yes, Dell."
The man wasn't a good English speaker and did not sound too sharp. I asked where he called from and he said India.
He appeared to call from a call center as I could hear the background noise.
He too tried to get me to the ammyy.com website. I played along with him. When I saw that ammyy.com was for remote control of my computer, it was obvious what he was trying to do.
I yelled at him and he hung up.
My concern is that this appears to be a massive scammer operation. It must be obvious to fraud investigators (Secret Service or credit card companies?) where this scam is originating. How come it isn't being stopped?
I expect some cooperation from the Indian government considering USA is probably their largest market.
I e-mailed ammyy.com tech support to inquire if they knew about the scam and/or if they were involved in the scam. They sent me this link:

2013-09-26T23:59:35+00:00 The stories I read here are hilarious. I got the same call as everyone else tonight. Whenever the person on the phone asked me to go to www.ammyy.com, I told him that the browser was returning a message that the page could not load. The page was loading but they asked me to navigate to their page and each time the page loaded I told them that I was get Error 404: Page could not load . They insisted that something was wrong with my internet and I explained to him that I did not think that anything was wrong with my internet because I could load Facebook. YouTube, Hotmail, Google, and a list of other sites but I could not load his site. After 90 minutes and about 10 different ways of trying to get me on their site, they gave up and hung up on me. GOOD NIGHT SUCKERS...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I was already at the part where they were asking me to pay but I shut down my computer coz I was really worried that they were accessing my computer. Do you think they got into something even if I really didn't go all the way to paying them? I'm really worried right now. Thanks.
As I've stated repeatedly, their goal is to convince you to pay for their overpriced "service contract" and they use shady tactics to do this.
If you are concerned that they may have compromised your system, a safe response would be to change your passwords for online services, especially banking/financial. And, run a full virus scan with your installed antivirus program.
