AMMYY Scam

A friend of mine [maybe the most conservative guy I know] finally took to asking telemarketers if they were ****. He had to do that something like three times, and he got off all the lists. He personally had to work up the courage to do it, but it worked like gangbusters for him.

Not sure if I could do it or not [I always tell them how victimized they are by their crooked boss, and you'd be amazed how many seem to agree], but I might do it some time. I tend to think I may have prompted a few to quit. If so, I am delighted, and glad for them.

I always consider it a successful call if I get the guy mad enough to yell or curse back :)

I do the same to ALL telemarketers.

It's amazing the number of telemarketers that prey on seniors, and I only wish by making them mad they'd scrub me off their lists.

You should feel like a HERO.  You kept a criminal [what these people are doing is criminal in all countries] from predating on someone else.  Alas, like most criminal activity suppression, it took more of your value to stop him than he probably lost.  Con artists ARE, in fact, very good at what they do.

Bully for you.

Incidentally, I have no compulsion to be polite to these people.  I am not abusive or offensive, but I yell at them, tell them they are criminals, and no better than street thugs, threaten to pass their information to police, tell them their bosses are dogs who would throw them out with the sewage, and all sorts of things.  I recommend that to everyone.  There is no point in being polite to someone who has so little respect for you that they consider you to be a patsy.
