I fixed it.
The problem is caused by Windows Store app accessing internet through IPv6 connection.
IPv6 can be disabled by unchecking IPv6 in your network adapter settings.
If the problem still exists, try changing the DNS servers.

Suddenly when I try to open the Windows 8 Store App instead of taking me to the store the green App loading screen flashes up and then it takes me to my start menu. I can hover my pointer over the upper left hand screen and see the app is there but when I switch to it I am get the flash of green app loading screen and then right back to my start menu.
I have found some similar issues on the forums but none of their fixes have worked for me.
This is a Windows 8 PC, not a tablet.

Hello Radox,
Thank you for responding.
I understand your concern.
As you have tried all suggestions, I would suggest you to refresh Windows 8.
Refer this article:
How to refresh, reset, or restore your PC
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc
Please refer to "Refresh your PC without affecting your files" section from the above article.
Note: Apps you installed from websites and DVDs will be removed. Apps that came with your PC and apps you installed from the Windows Store will be reinstalled. Windows puts a list of removed apps on your desktop after refreshing your PC.
Please keep us informed about the status of the issue.
Thank you

Dear Microsoft Engineer,
Do you REALLY read what we put? I clearly stated that I (like many others) am NOT a tech Geek. I simply cannot do all these things, let alone find half of them.
I need a simple fix that will do it via a regular windows update, self installing and correcting.
What about all the people who have to use computers that are mentally challenged or in their retirement years, that governments are forcing to use for shopping/banking/social communication? These people cannot do all these 'correct it yourself steps'.
The App store does not work and neither does reader, so even help files cannot be found.
Please come up with a proper fix that doesn't require the end user to do do: installations, re-installations, and leaves their hard drive cluttered with bits of files, and needing registry cleaners.
Yours sincerely, Totally NOT TECH GEEKY.
