I fixed it.
The problem is caused by Windows Store app accessing internet through IPv6 connection.
IPv6 can be disabled by unchecking IPv6 in your network adapter settings.
If the problem still exists, try changing the DNS servers.

Suddenly when I try to open the Windows 8 Store App instead of taking me to the store the green App loading screen flashes up and then it takes me to my start menu. I can hover my pointer over the upper left hand screen and see the app is there but when I switch to it I am get the flash of green app loading screen and then right back to my start menu.
I have found some similar issues on the forums but none of their fixes have worked for me.
This is a Windows 8 PC, not a tablet.

Hi James,
I understand that the Window Store app is not working.
1. Are all other start screen apps work correctly?
I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to resolve the issue with Windows Store.
Method 1: Please change the resolution and check if that helps.
a. Press Windows + x, Click or tap Command Prompt (Administrator).
b. Go to command prompt, type desk.cpl.
c. Please change the resolution of the screen to 1366*768.
Method 2: Run the Modern User Interface App troubleshooter and check if it helps.
Please go through the following link for troubleshooting.

Ok..Here is what I did...
- Created a new user with another (like yahoo email)
- Had to trust PC again for it.
- restarted Pc
- logged in as 2nd account ran store and voila..saw tile for win 8.1 upgrade.
- but could not download or install as 2nd use was not admin
- logged off and logged on as admin in broken account.
- Changed 2nd account to Admin and logged off.
- logged in as 2nd account ran store and voila..saw tile for win 8.1 upgrade.
- Now I am able to download it.
I just wanted to confirm that this method has worked for me as well. After downloading 8.1 update using the newly created user account my apps are working again. (even on the user that was broken).
Therefore, just follow this method and you wont have to restore or reinstall your windows to make the apps work again.
Cheers.

Mr. Karthik,
I'm really very much worried that none of the three methods has solved the issue.
I'd be glad if u have any other option that could re-open the store.
