Poor font rendering in Windows 8 (blurry text)

Apparently there is a huge problem with **** font rendering in Windows 8. Text appears very blurry. Programs affected by the new rendering are: Internet Explorer 10, the modern interface (start screen), Office 2013 and other 3rd party applications that rely on this rendering technology. There is no way to fix this problem, unless Microsoft recognizes it.

    Actually yes! It appears IE performs a lot better than Chrome on your system. But you've also selected a higher DPI setting or you have zoomed to 125% in IE. I tried that too and it made the problem less notable (but I don't want large letters). It's weird that Chrome appears so blurry on your PC, but not exactly in the way IE appears blurry on mine (see the image I posted previously).

    Can you tell us more about your configuration? Which graphics card do you have? Can you repeat posting an image comparing Chrome and IE using the default zoom and DPI settings (100%). Thanks for your time!

    ok here is my facebookwith IE and chrome. IE actually has better font.

    We are not talking about the desktop. Your desktop's fine! ... or , well, a little bit messy ;)

    The problem appears mostly in Internet Explorer 10! Go for example to www.facebook.com or http://www.latimes.com/ using on the one side Internet Explorer 10 and on the other Google Chrome. Notice the difference. If there isn't any, maybe this problem appears on some machines with specific configuration. If you do see the difference, you will understand that the smaller the letters, the blurriness makes them even harder to read. For example, facebook chat is almost unusable.

    To see my point of view of the issue, download this image (don't just view on browser). Click on "actual size" to see it in the original scale and compare fonts between IE10 and Chrome.

    I have NVidia too but i'm using my hdmi

    ok here is my desktoplike I said u might be right and it just doesn't bother me.

    Ok, so the problem also affects users with recent hardware. Now I'm really curious: when I have the time I'll go to a store and check one by one laptops, tablets and desktops to see if Internet Explorer has the same font displaying behavior!

    You could try, since you have ATI, to turn off morphological filtering under 3D settings to see if it works (I've read that in another forum). I've got NVidia and none of the settings make any difference.
