Poor font rendering in Windows 8 (blurry text)

Apparently there is a huge problem with **** font rendering in Windows 8. Text appears very blurry. Programs affected by the new rendering are: Internet Explorer 10, the modern interface (start screen), Office 2013 and other 3rd party applications that rely on this rendering technology. There is no way to fix this problem, unless Microsoft recognizes it.

    The problem is even worse in Office 2013 than IE10.

     

    I tried Office 2013 on Windows 7 and still the font rendering was terrible, so I had to roll back to Office 2010.

     

    At least IE10 on Windows 7 is usable, although still not as clear as Firefox and Opera. 

    I second that Office 2013 fonts are absolutely terrible

    I was hoping to go back to Windows 7 and keep Office 2013 as I thought it was Windows 8 causing the problem, but it looks like that is a dead end as well.

    Again, this is not an Internet Explorer problem, it's a Microsoft issue that affects their entire recent product line: Windows 8 (and all third-party developers that use its code in their applications, be it Apps or Desktop ones), Office 2013 and of course, IE 10. God knows what else. Let's at least hope they are aware of it...

    That's one of the reasons why I still use Chrome as my main browser.

    I don't want the fonts look like ****! This It's a problem in IE 10.

    If they don't fix it soon, more people will stop using it. People are not fool. IE10 have a bad rendering font in ALL PC's...

    Internet Explorer 8 and 9 don't have this problem.

    Period.

    Same problem here.

    Portege z930, with S24B370 monitor.

    Hey Microsoft - I don't want or need a tablet. I work on an external monitor. Fix the problem.

    You fool.  

    Microsoft doesn't care about you, or me, either, because my external monitor also looks like like @#$#@ on IE 10.

    We're not buying their new products, so we don't count.
