Poor font rendering in Windows 8 (blurry text)

Apparently there is a huge problem with **** font rendering in Windows 8. Text appears very blurry. Programs affected by the new rendering are: Internet Explorer 10, the modern interface (start screen), Office 2013 and other 3rd party applications that rely on this rendering technology. There is no way to fix this problem, unless Microsoft recognizes it.

    In the latest insider preview (14316) the font rendering has been fixed, but only in MS Edge browser, fonts look pretty good now. Office, IE and other apps still look horrible.

    24" is quite small to have this problem. We are talking about 27" and above HD displays.. mine is 27" and its blurry...

    Are you sure you selected the correct program options below?

    1. Use Windows 8.1 DPI scaling (our fix)
    2. DPI Scale 125%
    3. Apply
    4. Restart

    After you've done the above, you must not change the DPI settings within Windows. You should have the same 125% DPI scaling Windows 8.1 used.

    This fix return the problem to its original state where all text, menus are very small and hard to read. If i disable the scaling the result is exactly like the default scaling 100% where everything is small.

    I wonder if the same issue exists in windows 7 or not because i start consider downgrading the OS from windows 10 to windows 7.

    You cannot do anything against it :(

    In Windows XP, Vista, 7, the fonts were rendered with Cleartype, which means, colored pixeld were used to smoothen the font edges. It took me some time to get used to it, but since Wista, I must say, it looks good.

    But, somewhere between IE8, and IE9, Microsoft decided to drop Cleartype, and they are using grayscale antialiasing, which isn't as good as cleartype.
