How do I show folder size column in Windows 7 Explorer?

I have looked everywhere for adding the column to show folder size in Windows 7.  When a folder is deleted to the recycle bin, the folder size is shown in the "Size" column.  How do I mimic the recycle bin settings for all Windows Explorer viewing?

It's supposed to be a resource drag so it was removed,

There are some other third party utilities that are compatible with win-7 listed here,

If you use the Arrow key the popup description/ tool tip will appear automatically without the use of a mouse to hover.

Open command prompt window (DOS window).

    cd \

    dir /l/s > MyFiles.txt

This will create MyFiles.txt which will contain the size of every file in the current directory and every subdirectory.  Handy for searching fro certain files.  you can even take that txtx file and put it into Excel, and then sort it to find duplicates for example.

It's not a good answer. When dealing with lots of folders, seeing the folder size in the size column makes things much more efficient.

I am very sick of every time I do a search for something, the answer has always been 3rd party software, when it should be a MS solution, being it's Windows OS.

And also tired of asking questions and not getting answers.

Like I said, MS finally admitted, Windows 8 is the "Consumer OS" and it will only get dumbed down more and more.

Surely there's a registry key that can be adjusted to show sizes of all items in the window you are viewing?? It can show a file and so it should be able to show for folder too.

Sure it does, under the 'General' tab you have 'Type', 'Location', 'Size', 'Size on disk'...

That is a ridiculous solution for a problem that can be solved for free, or a small chunk of change compared to the thousands of dollars you suggest for a computer that only allows you to do what the manufacturer wants you to do.
