2012-11-23T20:48:34+00:00 If you state your make, model, and model number of the pc, I can look for a manual to get instructions on a reinstall.
Did it come with discs when you purchased?

With all due respect, are you even reading our post? You have been asked 3 times by both Liz and myself not to mark every post as the "Answer" and to unmark those which you have marked. Please follow our request. Thanks.
"Please stop marking all replies as "Answer". It makes it very confusing to anyone else who may see this thread with the same issue. Please go back and unmark all the post you have marked as the "Answer". Once your issue is resolved you can mark the one that resolved the issue.
Thanks for your cooperation :-)"
Okay, sorry about that. NEW GUY ON THE BLOCK

2012-11-23T20:05:38+00:00 Will let it complete it's last stage. Is it normal
for it to take this long. The computer has been running since Tuesday
11-20-12. Not sure if the HardDrive is failing, because that computer is
not my primary and is not used that much. Will keep trying if this will resolve
the problem.
Since this is not your regular computer I would recommend you simply re-install Windows if possible. The time you have spent with check disk you could have re-installed Windows and all your applications. You may want to test the hard drive prior to doing so.
If you do choose to re-install I recommend doing a low level format of the hard drive with Dban or KillDisk first. Let us know how you wish to proceed and we'll instruct you.
Windows XP Home Edition was already preinstalled when I bought the computer.
I guess I'll just continue with the long checkdisk process and reconsider other
options if this doesn't work or if it should ever happen again, will go a different
route.
