Error recover web page, Internet Explorer not responding

Original Title: Internet not responding issues,

When I try to go to a web site 9 out of 10 times I get a pop up at the bottom of my page saying msn.com, or other websites, not responding. Then the question box opens to says recover web page? I click yes, but nothing happens!

Hi,

1.       When was the last time it was working fine?

2.       Which version of Internet Explorer is installed on the computer?

3.       Have you made any recent software or hardware changes on the computer?

Method 1:

I would suggest you to run the Fixit from the link mentioned below and check.

Check if the issue occurs, if it does proceed to method 2.

**Note:**Resetting Internet Explorer is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings are lost and can't be recovered. Rather than resetting everything, you might want to reset specific settings in the Internet Options dialog box or delete your webpage history.

Note: There is a chance of data loss if any files are infected and which may be deleted in the clean up process.

    I might try that. I stopped my updates because one caused an error message on top corner left of screen which cause me big problems 'til I went hunting and deleted it. Hope yours will be OK.

    I always remove McAfee and Norton when I get a new machine. They both cause all kinds of speed issues for me

    I uninstall McAfee web advisor from my PC and it solves all the IE hanging problems. 

    Thx for the advice. Actually after writing this post I think I've solved the problem by installing all the Windows Updates recommended in the Windows Updater (I turned off the automatic update a while ago and had 57 updates recommended). Since installing the updates I have not had IE freeze or had a "Web page not responding" problem.

    For anybody having this problem I suggest you check that you verify if you have all Windows Updates installed. You will find that information by going to "Control Panel" "Windows Update"

    I've just found.....................Shared C run time for x64.........McAfee. Seems to be mixed messages on removing it. Any ideas?
