Windows 8 PC Reset. Taking toooo long.

Now I understand this will take a long time but I did NOT plan for it to take this long. When I upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 the format and upgrade only took 15 minutes. I was having some pc issues and said Hey! How about I use this new reset feature and start over again. WORST MISTAKE EVER! I have no clue what this is doing but this is taking forever. So far this thing moves up 6% every hour. It's been 3 hours now and it's still on 16% Can you all tell me what is this thing doing or is this some sort of error? My hard-drive size is 1TB clean and around 900gb when a OS is installed.

This is how it is.  I used it after deleting a file that I should have left and it did 6% the first two hours, 10% the next few, and was done after six-and-a-half hours.

I also dont see an answer here.  Microsoft says that refresh takes 30 minutes - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/b8/archive/2012/01/04/refresh-and-reset-your-pc.aspx

But my started with 19% - now 3 hours passed and I am ta 23%.

I payed for the product and feature that is not working and taking all my time. How long I have to wait. Another big problem, that Micosoft never answers questions.

Microsoft is the most horrible company ever.

Its not the first time I AM ASKING SMTH ON mICROSOFT FORUMS, BUT i NEVER GET AN ANSWER

Me too got the same problem, but mine arose from me installing 32 bit onto my computer as was not too sure which disc to use, so I followed the install instructions by using 32 bit disc first as it says it would let me know if I needed to use 64 bit first, BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!

After installing 32 bit and everything working fine I then found out my laptop can take 64 bit so was advised to install that, did that and the apps would then not work and computer ran so slow so currently trying the reset option and now at 56% after 4 hours!!!!

Why do MS say put 32 bit disc in first as it will tell you if you need to change it when it does not do what it says on the tin!!, upgrading to windows 8 has currently wasted 3 day of my life with installing and updates, hope this reset to 64 bit works or its going out the window and gonna dust off my XP discs as never had problems with that OS, Good luck to everyone in same position as me, its like watching paint dry, Woo-hoo!! now on 57%

I have the same model and have the same problem. This is nuts. 4 hrs later still on 20%

That is normal ... stop starring at your PC .... don't reset your router... leave it alone. Mine took over 14 hours. Other spent 9 hours .. some 48 hours and I know one dude who left his pc for 72 hours .... It is normal ... just be a bit patient .. leave your PC and spend your Holidays .. and it will be fine ...

VERY NORMAL .. happy holidays .. or Merry Christmas or whatever ...  :)
