Hi RobbieCharles,

If you take a look in the Store, there are several Chess games available there.

You can go to your Start screen by either clicking in the bottom left hand corner or pressing the Windows key, then go to the Store app.

Once in the Store, you can then search for apps by pressing Windows key + C and click Search in the Charms bar, and search for Chess games from there.

Hope this helps!

I loved Chess Titans on my Vista PC--the graphics and ease of use were great, and the chess was good too. On Windows 8.1 I use The Chess Lv.100 free from the game store. It is OK, but the graphics and sound (clunk! clunk! when the pieces are moved) are a bit of a disappointment. On a recent visit to my cousin who has Windows 7 I was excited to play Chess Titans again--but found it wasn't nearly as good as the version I had on my Vista PC. Not sure if the fault was her PC, her set-up, or if the Titans software just wasn't as compatible with Win7.

Thanks for the advice. Legality aside, I do have win 7 on my laptop and other pc's to play Titans. It is not that I would play any game for entertainment, which I don't . It is just chess that I can use to help me concentrate while writing. I am aware of the chess games on Windows 8 and am sorry to say that none of them is up to bar.

Even if you can find a copy of Chess Titans and you installed it in Windows 8 you would be breaking the terms of your Windows 8 release. As stated elsewhere there are chess games in the store, Also there is MSN games witch I use, and several are available from the Internet.

I feel the best way to enjoy these games though if you have a full version of XP, Vista or Windows 7 and it is not being used I would a software such as Virtual Box, Hyper-V and in stall your operating System in Virtual mode. That way you can have legal access to you r Chess Titans.

Hope this helps and if you need further assistance post and we will be glad to Help you.
