I uninstalled the Bing Desktop, but when I shut down the computer and it came back up, it was still there. How can I get rid of it completely?

Bing desktop was released through the windows update system,
Which is where you can Uninstall the update from,
Go to Uninstall a program or Programs and features,
On the top left click on View installed updates,
Scroll the list, it might take a minute or two to completely load all of the updates.
Right click it and click on Uninstall, it should be listed as, Bing desktop search.
P.S.
Change how you receive windows Recommended updates so when you uninstall it, it will not reload.
I completely concur. Microsoft has again overstepped the division between vendors of a computer system OS and the vendors of application programs. When they bundle application malware with Operating System updates the seem to be flaunting the letter as well as the spirit of established case law (Netscape et al.)
Could not find where to remove Bing from any where. Not in uninstall programs nor recent downloads
What now?? Can someone help me please?
Two ways to deal with it:
a) go to MSFT RegEdit, do Edit Search for Bing Desktop and delete every mention of it (I've done that before with other stuff -- on your head be it) Never had a problem yet. SPLAT! on the sidewalk. Do make a system restore point, I always do but the method works.
b) search for uninstaller program. I found REVO. I had used the free version 3 years ago so I trusted it. The free version installed, found the program, I chose "Safe" mode uninstall and UNINstalled Bing Desktop. I followed the prompts from REVO with a bit of intelligence, no problem at all. It was a bit scary to see REVO run the installer to get it to uninstall -- but it worked. I changed my update prompts to prompt me. MSFT had been installing updates for some time at that realtime moment. MSFT ran my pc for 45 minutes "preparing to configure updates" MSFT rebooted and all is good.
Comment: Bing Desktop still had one key in the Registry -- I deleted it by hand:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\BingDesktopUpdate
Bing Desktop was still in the Start Menu so I deleted that by hand.
Bing Desktop is gone, at least for now. I'll uninstall Revo and remember them - I like their tool. I don't mind Bing Desktop but it's not very useful really and lacking uninstall is a bad thing.
To uninstall a program I, normally, go to Start ---; to Control Panel --- to Uninstall a Program. I did that with Bing, and uninstalled it;
However, that did NOT remove the damned Bing Windows from my desktops.
I then went back through the above series to ‘View Installed Updates,’ as you recommended, but there was nothing related to ‘Bing’ to view.
I went through this list twice, looking at the many ‘Security Updates for MS” as well as the ‘Updates for MS,’ and more, but nothing connected with ‘Bing’ showed up. I then double checked on the ‘Installed Dates” and today’s date did not appear for any item.
I, still, have those damned 'Bing' windows on my desktops.
Where do I go from here???
