Windows 8 is stuck in an automatic repair loop

My windows 8 get in a automatic repair loop and it couldn't repair it. And than it says log file d:\windows\system32\logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt

What to do?

do a selective boot up with bios

get cmd to open and check

bootrec /fixMBR

bootrec /Fixboot

bootrec /rebuildBCD

and also

chkdsk /r c:

chkdsk /r d:

chkdsk /r e:

chkdsk /r f:

then let repair go thowe again and should be stoped

I would suggest you to login to any other computer and create a Windows 8 installation disk. Using that disk you can perform the troubleshooting methods given below.

I am having this same issue, had a virus attack my MBR, so I opened cmd on a 64bit system not in safe mode and ran bootREC commands  (because I don't know how to run bootrec commands in safe mode). Virus is gone but MBR Is messed up (I get the srt\srttrail), This is my first time trying to fix the computer myself and Now my computer is stuck in repair loop, not sure if repair loop is the cause of every application crashing or just not completing any action (online downloads, system updates, opening applications never complete). Furthermore I am confused about your process. The SELECTIVE BIOS boot up? Do you want us to boot from DISK OR USB, is this a raw boot from the motherboard bios in system configuration settings? Diagnostic? Selective? Normal? I really need help. Thank you very much, any detailed advice would be appreciated.

    I got stuck in the automatic repair loop as well a while back, and I tried several of the options listed below, but none of them solved the problem permanently. The issue was in my case apparently caused by an aging hard drive. I've put the HDD of my old pc in my new one to have some extra storage. My solution when stuck in automatic repair:

    • switch OFF the pc
    • unplug the cable to the hard drive (not the one with windows installed on)
    • switch ON the pc
    • switch OFF the pc
    • reconnect the hard drive
    • switch ON the pc
    • done!
