Movie Maker 2012 - Black screen on playback
I recently installed Windows Essentials 2012 on my Windows 7 laptop. I went into Movie Maker and tried it out. Unfortunately when I wanted to preview something text or photos I had selected, a black screen appeared in the player. I can add text, music, photos and videos, but when I hit the play button, all I get is a black screen in the player. Is this something other people have experienced? Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks!

Had the same blank screen problem and converted back to Essentials 2011. That didn't work at first either, until I realized I had recently installed a Microsoft update (KB 2670838) which updates Direct3D components among other things. Once I uninstalled that Microsoft update, the 2011 version worked fine again. More info on that update here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2670838?wa=wsignin1.0

2013-02-20T05:58:55+00:00 I uninstalled windows essentials 2011 and reinstalled 2012. I cleared all my event viewer logs, then started windows movie maker, then tried to to create a video, it did same black screen as before. I did this 10 times with 10 different files openeing and closing WMM each time.
I created the log files exactly as asked and uploaded.
NOTE: WMM created no app logs. I exported and attached regardless.
Thanks.
