Windows 8. App Store can't connect to the Internet, but Internet Explorer works fine from the Desktop. Network Troubleshooter can't find any problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Windows 8 Community!

From your issue description I understand that after installing Windows 8 App store can’t connect to internet. I do understand the inconvenience caused to you. Do not worry; I am here to help you.

I would suggest you to check the Windows Firewall Settings and check if it helps.

a)      Type in Control Panel on the Start Page.

b)      On the left side, click Control Panel.

c)      Click on Windows Firewall.

d)      On the left pane, click on "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall".

e)      Under the Allowed apps and features, look for Store.

f)       Make sure you have a click in Private and or Public.

Then see if you can open the Windows Store.

If you have a 3rd party Firewall, you may need to change the settings to allow the app thru the Firewall.

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you are done. If you are connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    I too have a problem connecting the store to internet. I use a proxy server to take internet provided by college. The store and window apps dont connect to internet. Can anyboby help....?

    The following solution works for me:

    1> Open your router's configuration page, normally http://192.168.0.1

    2> Enable DMZ for your laptop. 

    The DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) option provides you with an option to set a single computer on your network outside of the router. If you have a computer that cannot run Internet applications successfully from behind the router, then you can place the computer into the DMZ for unrestricted Internet access. 

    Note: Putting a computer in the DMZ may expose that computer to a variety of security risks. Use of this option is only recommended as a last resort.

    I just solved this by checking another answer.  If you aren't having Windows Store blocked by the Windows Firewall, then make sure your date and time are correct in you clock.  Fixing this immediately fixed my problem.
