I installed Windows 8 Pro on a Zotac Zbox AD03 3 days ago. The installation went fine and everything, including the network and internet, worked just fine. The network contains 4 Windows 7 machines, a network printer, a Buffalo NAS, a Windows Home Server, a 16 port switch and a Motorola combo cable modem (DOCSIS 3.0) and router. The new computer with Windows 8 could see everything and appeared to function perfectly with normal internet access. After powering it off for the night I restarted it the next morning and found it could only see the Windows Home Server and one of the Windows 7 machines. It reported that it was not attached to a network and when I tried to connect I got error 651. I did a complete new install and it still could only see the Windows Home Server and the same other Windows 7 machine and still get the error 651 message. What could have happened during that power down/restart to cause it to lose network connectivity? How do I fix it?

I should have made the change a long time ago. I had no problems with changing over went better than I expected. I have been asking everybody I see with an Apple how they rate them and every single person was very satisfied. Speed maintained with age and battery life impressive.

I applaud you for your honesty to a loyal customer. Its very sad to witness the decline of the PC but Microsoft has a lot to answer for. Windows 8 has been a disaster. Outlook from the start screen has unbelievable problems I could not be bothered reporting them because nothing positive is done about it. There has been so many updates and all they have done is slowed computers right down. My two very high spec laptops i7 SSD that started of very quick after 13 months you would not recognise them as the same computers.
My friend has a 3 year old mac and it is as fast today as it was when he bought it. That convinced me to jump ship.

I am a technician doing onsite service for PC's only. yesterday for the first time ever I told a customer that she should buy a Mac. I will make no money off them again but I could not tell her otherwise. And her children's response was literally cheers and clapping. I've worked for them for 8 years and have gotten Christmas cards from them. I'm going to miss them but I know they will be happier with their computer situation.

I have gone Mac as well. I got fed up with slow computers, error problems and the diabolical spinning circle of dots in Windows 8 Outlook as well as typing away only to discover I was typing in the search box without requesting any search. I only use the PC occasionally. You are absolutely you only get what you pay for. With a Mac you are paying for a much better product that has no problems by comparison. I now have to travel ten miles to get servicing done on the spot with a PC if there was a problem it took ten days to get sorted. For a very small annual sum you get one to one support to speed up the changeover. Why did I not change years ago?
