I HAVE THE SOLUTION!

Go to Control Panel/System and Security/Action Center

There is a title: "Review recent messages and resolve problems"

Under that I had three warnings. Than I turned everything on.

After that I was able to install .net 3.5 without the 0x800f0922 error code.

Use the

Control Panel | Programs and Features | Turn Windows features on or off.

solution.

I hope it works for everyone with this.

I had the same issue but updating the Group Policy Setting under administrative tab helped...

Refer to Method 2: Configure the Group Policy setting in .. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2734782/

Hope someone can save some time..

Interesting. One and a half years after the post was initiated I stumble into the same issue, read the whole thread (aside a couple others dealing with it found through Google) and still there is no resolution.

Is no one at MSFT wondering why so many people seem to be running in the same issue, can't resolve it with any reasonable measures and is doing nothing against it? It's beyond me to be frank.

I'm just about to give up on it as well. Why should I waste my time as many others have apparently before me and get no helpful support from MSFT whatsoever.

Forgive me if I am sceptical that this is the solution for anyone else... I love my i7 - no problems at all. Should be fast enough for years to come. I love Big Broth - sorry, I mean MS.
