i had the same problem, i found out my graphics card (gtx 980 sli) one fan had got caught on the case from when i applied new thermal paste and wasnt cooling the card, once i fixed that, not had a problem since, perhaps check ur gpu if u have a dedicated one?
are u guys retarded, all u idiots keep replying with wrong answers due to the blantant and obvious fact that u did not read any previous comments, cuz if u did u would not reply with the same dumb answers which are continuously repeated and said not to work, which includes
the screen saver option and the apparent disappearance of security policies, DO NOT repeat that u idiots, some people don't have the security policies option, some people already have the power settings set on never turn off, and the screen saver settings set on none and checkbox is unticked.
if u ridiculous fools even read any coments u would have realized this and not end up just spamming the same unhelpful and moronic answers over, just because some of u want to seem smart or just take part in the conversation and speak rubbish.
now let me be unbias, all os have their flaws and im not agreeing to any slander comments by anyone but. this issue of automatic logout which is not just annoying but realty bad especially if youre working seems to be a small issue that Microsoft should have no problem fixing( because they are Microsoft... what cant they do) but from the lack of their help on this thread, this simple issue may vary from os installations and may not be that simple afterall. for a company like Microsoft, this turns me away and pushes me over to Linux as I was already hoping to do. this bug should have been fixed already last year, and its still happening to me now, lost a bit of work due to this logoff.
so I can understand if anyone would bash Microsoft with bad comments now as it is well deserved after spending over 100 bucks on windows when I could have gotten debian 7 free.
so if anyone says not to lashout at Microsoft and someone is behaving unpleaseant and that they should be here only to find answers, come back and say this when u lost 4 pages of writing due to this auto logoff.
Go to Control Panel -> Personalization -> Change Screen Saver. Uncheck the box that says "On resume, display logon screen"
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I am new at computers and your suggestion worked!!!
