SD memory Card Reader is not working on Windows 8

* Original Title: Windows 8 SD memory Card Reader Driver

I installed Windows 8 on a new Samsung Laptop (NP350V5C-A02UK) and the SD card reader is not working. Called Samsung who advised no driver for Windows 8 available yet. Also was told that Microsoft would have a generic driver that could solve this problem, but when I called support I was told no such thing is available. Has anyon eelse experienced this issue, and if so how did you resolve it? Thanks

1.      What exactly happens while you try to connect the device?

2.      Are you getting any error code or error message? If yes, what is the complete error message?

Let’s follow the methods provided below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run the Hardware troubleshooter and check.

Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

a. Press Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the Charms bar.

b. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting under Settings.

c. Now type Hardware Troubleshooter in the search option.

d. Click on Hardware troubleshooter to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Install latest drivers for the USB device and check.

Download the Windows 7 drivers from the Manufacturer’s website and install them in compatibility mode.

a.       Right click on the driver setup file and select “Properties”.

b.      Select “Compatibility” Tab.

c.       Make a check mark next to Run this program in “Compatibility mode” and select previous version of Windows supported by the software, from the drop down list.

d.      Then click on “Apply” and “Ok” option.

e.       Then install the driver.

f.       Then restart your computer and check how it works.

Method 3: Install optional updates and check.

a. At the Start screen, type Windows Update.

b. Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select Install optional updates from the left results.

c. When the Windows Update control panel opens, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates.

    iam having trouble also,,upgrade to win 10 0n my acer aspire e5-521-24pq lap top an memory card reader stop dead I tried every thing I could think of,,by the way I don't know much either an don't claim to,,wish I could help,can anyone help us with ,,SD MEMORY CARD READER,,,,ITS COMPLETELY DEAD,HAVE GREAT DAY WILLIAM

    My windows phone 8.1 520 the SD card is not reading or something a while back I was having issues with my phone and internet and all the sudden all my downloaded apps show unavailable under them in my app list. Well I haven't been able to get a plan with data for a while so now I want to fix it and get my apps going again I. Went to settings and went to storage space or sense and pushed remove SD card and waited til it told me it was safe. But when I put it back in nothing changed I. Would like to find out where. In my phone info I could read more about the SD card and how to use it for developing photos and things

    I'm having the same problem with my Dell Inspiron 17R.  The Dell website had multiple drivers listed & I didn't know which one to pick to get my SD drive working on the computer.  The OS is Windows 8 Pro.  Please help.
