I had the same problem of my wifi showing limited everytime I connect. After searching in internet for 2 hours and trying various options like netsh reset, disable\enable, network discovery on, power saver change mode, tcip reset, ip config manual, metered download enable etc. nothing worked!

But then I thought to reinstall my WLAN driver. In my case, my lenovo laptop had drivers in the path D:\drivers\WLAN. I launched the setup and reinstalled and hurrah I am able to connect without any problem now!!!

Hi Rahid,

Thank you for posting here!

I would recommend you to follow these steps and check if it helps.

Does this issue occur while connecting it through a wired network?

Method 1

Run Network troubleshooter.

a. Press “windows Key + W”. from the start screen

b. Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and hit enter.

c. Select “Network and Internet” option

d. First select “Internet connections” troubleshooter.

e. Follow the on-screen instructions.

f. Then select “Network Adapter” troubleshooter and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2

I would suggest you to try the steps from the link given below:

Method 3:

Try resetting  TCP/IP.

Reset TCPIP and check  if it works.

Follow the steps

a) Boot to the desktop view.

b) Open command prompt, right click in the left corner when the Start window appear and select command prompt (admin).

c) At the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the following command and then press ENTER:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Note: If you do not want to specify a directory path for the log file, use the following command:

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

d) Reboot the computer.

Let us know the status.

I tried this fix and it didn't work. I do believe it will be a great solution to most people. Let me explain how I fixed mine.

First I had no problem until I reverted back from Windows 10 Pro. All of a sudden I have limited connection. I did everything to fix it including updating drivers, etc. I even had a Microsoft chat guy on the line for two hours just sign off cause he couldn't help me. So I took two days away to clear my mind. Then tonight I go to try the steps on this link again.

While in the network adapter settings I noticed that the Comodo Firewall driver was installed and had a check mark on the box. This caught me because I had uninstalled the Comodo firewall, antivirus, etc... So I uninstalled it and my network adapter settings window froze. I gave it 5 minutes and then simply restarted the computer.

Signed in and the internet actually freaking works! Welcome back Fios 50/50.

*Note the 1st chat guy I had who helped me revert back to Windows 8 was awesome. The guy I had who tried to help me fix the internet sucked. No matter how many times I told him all my other devices worked great at the same distance from the router, he kept saying that was the problem. Freaking idiot!

I ran into the same issue with a new laptop.  I installed Norton and as soon as I restarted the laptop it started with limited access for the internet.  I found that Norton does not support Edge yet and as soon as I changed my settings to use internet explorer instead and restarted the laptop I was online again.
