I had the same problem of my wifi showing limited everytime I connect. After searching in internet for 2 hours and trying various options like netsh reset, disable\enable, network discovery on, power saver change mode, tcip reset, ip config manual, metered download enable etc. nothing worked!

But then I thought to reinstall my WLAN driver. In my case, my lenovo laptop had drivers in the path D:\drivers\WLAN. I launched the setup and reinstalled and hurrah I am able to connect without any problem now!!!

Hi Rahid,

Thank you for posting here!

I would recommend you to follow these steps and check if it helps.

Does this issue occur while connecting it through a wired network?

Method 1

Run Network troubleshooter.

a. Press “windows Key + W”. from the start screen

b. Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and hit enter.

c. Select “Network and Internet” option

d. First select “Internet connections” troubleshooter.

e. Follow the on-screen instructions.

f. Then select “Network Adapter” troubleshooter and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2

None of the tricks that work for me. I am using my DELL Inspiron N5010 for 3 years, Never have a problem with original W7Home 64bit, upgraded to W7Pro 64bit and tested for a few months with win Server 2012 64bit. Never have q hiccup although Intensively download movies and software with BitComet.

After loading W8 Core 32bit, WIFI very frequently and randomly turned LIMITED. Tried all the tricks from Internet still the same without any improvement.

    • disable hibernate
    • disable power saving
    • turn on Download over metered connections

It is very bothersome especially when free file download from Download Agent that do not support resume download and have to wait another hour to start a new download.

Only solution is connect with a Cat5 cable which running across my living room from one side to the other side. My experience that W8/32bit is running way faster than W7/64 bit with 3MB RAM.

Try rolling back your WiFi card driver.  If the old one works, then inhibit it from doing any more automatic updates.  That worked for me although I have a Centrino wireless card and not a Broadcom.
