I have an ASUS P5E motherboard and recently reloaded Windows 7 onto a Crucial MX100 SSD. I downloaded the "Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager Driver V8.9.0.1023 for Windows
32/64bit XP" from the Asus site, And installed for the hopes it would help with managing the SSD drive better.
Well, I found that I could not update windows any more. Upon seeing this Forum, I saw that there is a chance that the Intel Storage manager I had installed was the problem.
I uninstalled the Intel storage Manage and rebooted.. Everything now works!!!
Duh: When I think about it, I have all AMD (Processor and Radeon Video Cards) stuff in my PC currently so I don't need anything Intel.
But yeah, Intel Storage manager was the issue conflicting with the Microsoft Windows Updates.
