Just went to update and there is a message to say many apps and app settings/data will be lost. But contacts and other data etc will be fine. Why on earth should this be? Contacts and files are easy to backup/restore; apps and their settings/data are so awkward to manually reinstall and reconfigure on Nokia E7.
Apple software update for iPod/iPhone manages to not wipe everything, why can't Nokia manage the same...? Applying this update will take me ages to get my phone back to its current state...
And last time I updated, Microsoft Exchange folders view stopped working properly, so i now cannot see my own folders only default/system folders. As most of my mail gets filtered into subfolders using rules on the exchange server, this means I can't now view most of my email. Are there any other such 'improvements' in this update I wonder.
So overall, is it worth the pain and angst to install this update? at the very least I'll have to do it one evening when I have *lots* of time...
