Hi all,

great news! We just started to roll out our next update for Symbian called Nokia Belle Refresh for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro with version number 111.040.1511 (Nokia E6, version number 111.140.0058, will follow still this week, Nokia 500 updates will follow shortly).

This update again brings new features to Symbian smartphones, for example:

-          a new browser with HTML5 web apps support, a new set of homescreen widgets, and the previously released Microsoft Office Mobile App and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 in one package.

-          Nokia N8 will have some extra apps for imaging

The update will be rolled out in phases, starting with the vanilla versions (ie. basic software variants without any specific operator or country configuration). Country and operator variants will follow within the next weeks, depending on local and operator approvals.

pS: Just like after updating from Nokia Anna to Nokia Belle, some apps may not work due to compatibility issues. If you need more information on available apps, please contact your local Nokia Care support. Furthermore, you can also contact the respective App developer to enquire about the compatibility.

Best regards,

Yvonne from Nokia Care

Just got the update .. And it wasn't available just a few hours ago either.

Like you .. I have been checking this page everyday for the past 4 weeks.

I had a Nokia N8 unbranded, direct from Nokia.

Carrier is T-Mobile .. pay-as-you-go kinda plan, in California.

    thanks

It entirely depends on your phone's product code, you've got a product code which has not yet received an update for it (dial *#0000# to find the product code). When Belle was rolled out there was a web page giving ETAs for product codes but unfortunately they've decided not to do this for Belle Refresh so you can only answer your question by checking every couple of days with Nokia Suite or the phone.

A product code is based on phone model (E7-00), hardware differences (usually case colour and sometimes memory if they put out different versions with different amounts of memory), and whether it's vanilla for several countries/customised for one country/customised for an operator in one country.

There is third party software which can check Nokia's servers and give you a list of updates, the mods don't like its name to be mentioned here though.

    Hi Dan555,

I noticed the roll out of the country variants for Latvia, Estland and the Netherlands also. As for the Netherlands I will add, that obviously priority is given to the country variants. T-Mobile and Vodafone variants have not been rolled out there. I'm happy with this strategy, that we don't have to wait for the last approving carrier. I hope for the branded phone users, that their update is coming soon. Cheers
