I have a Gateway ZX6971 all in one touch screen. I recently downloaded the windows 8 release preview and i cant find anyway to get my touch screen capabilities working again. Is there a way to fix this problem? I tried reintalling the Card Reader Driver and try to open some touch programs in capability mode. Is there anything I can do to do my touch screen back? It worked fine in Windows 7. Any help or advice would be great! Thank you!

This issue may be a display driver issue. I checked Gateway's website for available drivers for the ZX6971 and there are no Windows 8 drivers. Use the contact us link here to see when or if drivers will be available to support Windows 8 on your computer.

Okay, I have installed the driver and it is finally working -- to some extent.
The top left corner of my screen registers input sporadically. Everything moves to the corner there and I have isolated the problem as a calibration issue; on the older Windows 7 driver, I had the same problem *if* I calibrated at all using the provided tool.
The problem is that I can't go and correct the issue using Windows' calibration tool because it won't register the points with the much specificity in that corner to begin with.
Any ideas?
Figured it out. I have no clue why I was having the problems I had, but if anyone else finds themselves in my situation, you have to make sure that you Do not calibrate the older driver at all before uninstalling it and installing the updated version. Somehow the calibration data must have carried over each time.

this new driver worked for me I have the gateway zx4971 the touch screen now works
