I just got called from Microsoft office in california , and im from eastern europe so i find this strange . They didnt asked for any account information or something like that . They just told me that someone is stealing my inditity  or something like that , then asked me to type www.fastsupport.com in my browser , and after that to instal "GoToAssist" .After that they installed Advanced WindowCare V2 on my pc , show me the problems i have , and offer me to buy some program from Microsoft , with 1 year plan, 5 years plan, life plan . I didnt buy it so I wonder was that a scam or anything like that , and should i be afraid . And after they finished they uinstalled those programs from my pc. If that wasnt scam and my pc is in the condition they said , i might buy it .

So for me my daughter was on the computer and this box popped up claiming that there was a virius found and i needed to call the number to have removed, i had just bought the computer so i assumed that mabey it was something new. by time got to the discussion about buying security packages r whatever i became hesitant, shut my phone off and the computer and left off the whole night, and am afraid to turn it back on, the guy had total control of my computer from wherever he was.

In my opinion, free security programs are just as effective as pay-for programs. When MSE came out, I tried it and stayed with it. I had no issues. MSE is available for Win7 & Vista. In Win8 and later, Windows Defender is MSE rebranded.

      What is your windows version?

There are other good programs. Avast, Avira and many more.
Ultimately, the choice is up to you. Have a look here.

One thing I suggest is that no matter what program you choose,
supplement it with these freeware programs that are not real-time
protection, and do a manual scan once a month or so, or if you
      suspect anything.

me again!!   they said they were from Fast Support and they sounded from India or Pakistan and as I said they used Western Union for grabbing my money so if anyone out there is caught just put the phone down use the little man down the street for your problems I think they use the weekends as its a bad time to find someone to get your computer fixed!!!!   D

Contact your bank and/or financial institution to report the fraudulent charges and seek assistance in getting the charges reversed.
