Hi

The Address Book in Windows XP was called user name.wab. This was used in the default Outlook Express email program. You can copy/move that .wab file to the Windows 7 system.

In Windows 7, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the  C:\Users\your name\Contacts folder.

On the Toolbar, click the Import button.

In the Import dialog, select the Windows Address Book (Outlook Express contacts)  option.

Click the Import button and navigate to where you saved the .WAB file.

Select that file and click Open.

This will place all of the email addresses into the Contacts folder. This folder will be used for any email programs that you install.

    So you're not actually "in your Gmail account ", you're actually in the Mail app.

    You do need to be very specific in your description here as no-one can see your computer.

    You need to connect your Gmail account to the People app. Once you've done that and allow it to Sync, then all will work as before.

    Gordon my friend.  You can tell by my name that I am a computer dummy, so I feel.  I went from Vista to 10.  When in my Google mail acct. I would forward some mail ( which I did A LOT of ) all I had to do was double click the TO: and my contacts list would appear. I would click on everyone that I wanted to forward to, hit select and send.  This of course is a great feature.  Windows 10 does not have this function. I can't believe that something that convenient was removed.  What a step backwards.  According to the Geek Squad guy, I have to purchase "Outlook".  Which is happening at Best Buy right now.  How disappointing to have to spend more money to get back the convince.

    I'm using the lastest version of Windows on an new Envy HP laptop computer and so far no one has given me a straight answer as to how to find my stupid address book!

    10 seconds research would have told you this - it's the PEOPLE APP.

    Look on your Start Page.

    No need to scold.  Not everyone is a geek.

    I am struggling with Windows 10.  I can't find my contact list in my google mail when I want to forward something.  I sure as heck don't want to have a paper list taped to my computer with contacts and type them in.  Can anyone help me locate my contacts in mail?
