Mouse Scroll not working to scroll pages. only can Change the Volume control. How to fix it?

Original Title: Mouse scroll wheel only adjusts the volume. How do I get it to scroll pages again?

Using wireless mouse (Silvercrest MTS2218-m with win 7 x64) and scroll wheel no longer scrolls page up and down in any program. It only adjusts the volume. How do I get it to scroll pages again?

Have already checked settings in control panel>mouse nothing obvious there to change this annoying feature. And have already uninstalled mouse driver in device manager but no change. have also shut down and started up laptop several times.

Near the scrolling wheel is a dpi button, which also can be used to switch

between normal and media mode by holding it for 3 seconds. In the media mode

the wheel controls the volume and does not scroll.

Read the manual...   ;-)

Hi,

1.     Have you checked whether the mouse works fine on a different system?

Try to connect the device to a different computer and then check.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you to contact manufacturer for further assistance.

    I fixed this problem by not using any of the solutions used by other's, i have a gaming mouse with a lot of options and buttons, it was on a wierd option that makes it do this problem that Mark had, i don't know why but i fixed it

    Where the heck is THIS documented?  I've been using Windows..  umm, for a long time (since before your time probably) and WHERE is that documented?

    It's up to the mouse manufacturer to document it, not Windows in any way.

    Where the heck is THIS documented?  I've been using Windows..  umm, for a long time (since before your time probably) and WHERE is that documented?  Anyway, that worked, so thank you!  And omg it should NOT have.  Seriously... all the accessibility reminders pop up when I hold something too long, why doesn't this?  Why does this happen at all?  This surprises the user in all the worst way.  Please ... make it stop.
