Mouse Scroll not working to scroll pages. only can Change the Volume control. How to fix it?

Original Title: Mouse scroll wheel only adjusts the volume. How do I get it to scroll pages again?

Using wireless mouse (Silvercrest MTS2218-m with win 7 x64) and scroll wheel no longer scrolls page up and down in any program. It only adjusts the volume. How do I get it to scroll pages again?

Have already checked settings in control panel>mouse nothing obvious there to change this annoying feature. And have already uninstalled mouse driver in device manager but no change. have also shut down and started up laptop several times.

Near the scrolling wheel is a dpi button, which also can be used to switch

between normal and media mode by holding it for 3 seconds. In the media mode

the wheel controls the volume and does not scroll.

Read the manual...   ;-)

Hi,

1.     Have you checked whether the mouse works fine on a different system?

Try to connect the device to a different computer and then check.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you to contact manufacturer for further assistance.

    What is "media mode"? I also tried holding the Dpi button ,but wouldnt work.

    i don't got a bluetooth mouse and had this problem to my mouse is BEMBIRO and i had changed the color on my mouse but the settings changed when you change the color so you can try but keep it on 1 color its works for me :)

    In most cases, removing the batteries from the mouse for a few minutes will correct the problem.  However the problem will persist with some mice because windows believes you want to use the mouse solely as a media controller.  Some mice have a switch which adjusts the base DPI accuracy of the device and there may be an additional setting with an icon representing ‘media’ (on my Havitt gaming mouse the symbol is a treble clef ) if the mouse is switched to this setting all of it’s functions will be dedicated to media related actions (the wheel will only operate the volume, forward and backward buttons collapse windows, skip DVD chapters etc.). Sometimes the media mode is accessed by another method, some mice have a DPI toggle just behind the wheel and if you press and hold this button for three seconds the media mode will activate (or deactivate if it’s already selected).  If in doubt perform a search for “*NAME AND MODEL OF MOUSE* Media Player Mode” and doubtless you’ll soon arrive at a solution for deactivating the function.
