Good call with this article!  I too had the same error with my Samsung Focus but I figured out that for some reason my route was not able to identify a device name, only the MAC address.  (possibly a bug in WP7)  Apparently Zune does not like this because as soon as I used a static IP address for my phone's MAC address and gave it the name of my phone as recognized by Zune, it worked!

Cheers!

Hi TrevorScarlett

Are you still receiving the same error message?

Have you tried to configure the device manually?

There’re some important recommendations that you must be aware:

Make sure that the access point or the router to which you connect is a DHCP server (make sure that DHCP is turned on).

Try to reserve an IP address for the Zune device on the router.

If you are using two routers, make sure that the router to which you try to connect is the DHCP server.

Like you, I tried almost everything to get wireless sync to work, but what ended up helping was a hard reset of my Lumia 800. Just remember to back up everything because it will delete all the data on your phone.

I need help to resolve this as well. I have the same issue.

    Here is my setup:

    • My PC is running Windows 7, 64 bit. It is fully patched and updated as of the date of this post.
    • My phone is a Nokia Lumia 900 on AT&T network running WP 7.5. It is fully patched as recommended by Microsoft and AT&T, there are currently no updates available on the phone. Software version 7.10 (8779)
    • PC is connected to hard wired Ethernet through 1GB Cat 6a twisted pair cable, through a Netgear ProSafe 5 port Gigabit Switch GS105.
    • The Netgear ProSafe 5 is connected to a D-Link DGS-1024D. This is a 24 port unmanaged Gigabit switch.
    • The D-Link DGS-1024D is connected (hard wired) to a Netgear N600 Wireless dual band gigabit router (WNDR3700) with firmware version V1.0.16.98NA.
    • My phone is connected to my wireless network with security options set to "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]". I have no desire to change the security settings as it is working with everything else that I have set up.
    • The name of the wireless network is 13 characters long, no spaces or special characters. I have no desire to change the network name as it will require me to change all other devices.
    • My phone is also connected to my PC using a USB cable.
    • The Network is configured to be a "Home network". HomeGroup status is "Ready to create". I have no desire to create a HomeGroup, as it seems to be a horrible implementation of network security, basically making all information available to everyone.
    • In my "Network and Sharing Center" in control panel "Unidentified network" which lists my two VMware virtual network adapters WMnet1 and WMnet8.
    • My standard Windows 7 user (the one that I use to configure this) is not an administrator (as per Microsoft's security recommendations). I use an admin user when requested to do so by the software.

Here is what I have done so far:

    1. I have renamed my phone to something that is only 5 characters long, no spaces or other special characters. All UPPER case.
    2. I have created a static IP address for my phone using DHCP on my NetgearN600 router.
    3. I have disabled the two VMware network adapters. I only have one network connection now.
    4. I have connected my PC directly to the Netgear N600 Wireless router, by passing NetGear ProSafe 5 and D-Link.
    5. I have read and followed the instructions in http://support.xbox.com/en-US/zune/software/wireless-sync, with the exception that I have not created a new user profile.
    6. I have looked in the Windows Event Log, I can find no errors or warnings that seems to be related to the Zune software.
    7. I have restarted Zune and the phone.

Wireless syncing still does not work. I get error code C00D07C9.

How can I resolve this? Where do I look for error logs?

I have spent hours trying to solve this, please help me.

    Thanks,

    Niels
