Trying to uninstall a program, but the computer says it's still running, and I can't find it to shut it down so I can get rid of it. What do I do?

I was trying to uninstall a program that snuck in while I was tryinh to activate my Nook.  It's called knctr by itibiti. When I try to remove it a message pops up that it is still running and I should shut it down.  I can't find it anywhere to shut it down. How do I get rid of it?

SUCCESS IN REMOVING KNCTR.  YES!!  Down on the right corner of your desktop near the digital clock should be a drop-down arrow.  Click it and you'll see the 'knctr icon'.  Click the icon and then click 'Shutdown'.  Then go to your control panel and 'Uninstall' that program.  I've already rebooted my system and it is gone.  Good Luck!!

Great Thank you very much. It was really good and simple. Malware or whatever it is, removed from the my PC.

    I just don't get it! Why is everyone here trying to remove KNCTR? It allows you to make FREE phone calls via the web to phones in North America and Canada. Would you rather PAY for the call?

    If so go ahead and remove the software from your machine. I call friends all over the country fro FREE with this app. I would NEVER think of removing it!
