I was trying to uninstall a program that snuck in while I was tryinh to activate my Nook.  It's called knctr by itibiti. When I try to remove it a message pops up that it is still running and I should shut it down.  I can't find it anywhere to shut it down. How do I get rid of it?

SUCCESS IN REMOVING KNCTR.  YES!!  Down on the right corner of your desktop near the digital clock should be a drop-down arrow.  Click it and you'll see the 'knctr icon'.  Click the icon and then click 'Shutdown'.  Then go to your control panel and 'Uninstall' that program.  I've already rebooted my system and it is gone.  Good Luck!!

    Yes I also had the same issue.

    first you need to do is get to the TASK MANAGER ding the itibit.exe and STOP IT.

    then you you go to the uninstall programs and find the KNCTR and uninstall it.

    you need to have Ethernet connection.

    once it uninstall, go to C:\ drive

    type on the search block( KNCTR ) once everything related to KNCTR deleted.

    then empty the trash or deleted files.

    download the Malwarebytes free trails and open update it will download all uptodated updates. Then run the scan and follow the process as Malwarebytes indicates.

    Soon after all detected objects appears delete them. Option from Malwarebytes software.

    let the software restart computer.

    you should be ok now.
