    Hi,

I have been using for the last 12 years a registry cleaner from Macecraft Software. The latest version is: jv16 PowerTools 2014. They offer a 60 days trial period. At first It will seem to be a complicated Cleaner, but if you read the instructions on how to use it, it's really simple; you will find it at

    http://www.macecraft.com

I am enclosing a picture of their pages. You will see a red arrow pointing to jv16 Power tools 2014 written in white letters, go ahead and click on it. On the new page you will find the 60 days free trial description.

Ken Blakes answer is the best I've ever heard on this topic.

Never use a registry cleaner without first backing up the registry. Choose a registry cleaner that will tell you exactly what changes it is going to make before it makes them. Then examine each and every change, and do the research to find out which change might possibly be causing the problem you're trying to fix. If by chance you happen to find one change that might solve a specific problem, then go ahead and make that one change manually. My experience tells me that the single change you find won't really solve anything. But it might lead you in the right direction toward eliminating a defective program or driver.

I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but there is no magic beans or pot of gold at the top of the bean plant.

There's no magic button that will fix your registry.

Despite all the ads on TV, there's no magic program with a one button fix all solution.

The last thing a computer tech wants to see when he sits down at a client's computer, is that they're running for different antivirus programs. He knows before he even presses the start button, that he's going to find every flavor of snake oil that exists.

On the other hand, some computer techs make a good living cleaning out the junk people buy from those TV ads.

Thank you I agree with your statement, I've also used CCleaner and you do need to do your homework and setup the options carefully before you use CCleaner.

Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, right click Command Prompt, and click Run as administrator from the drop down menu.. Type *cd* and press ENTER. Type "chkdsk c: /r" without the quotes and hit ENTER. Make sure you include the spaces indicated. Enter Y when asked whether you wish to run chkdsk on restarting the computer. Type exit, press the ENTER key and restart the computer.

Please run System File Checker and say if it cannot fix corrupted files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
