I need to bring my icons back up on my wallpaper screen. Don't know how I hid them. Can't seem to bring them back up on the screen. What do I do?

You may have accidentally hidden the icons.

How do I restore my Icons
there must have been an update or something because when I put my computer to sleep, it took five or six shutdowns to get to sign on. Now everything is screwed so badly I don't even know where to start. May have to stop Windows updates altogether, If I'm ever able to get something I recognize.
I was using my laptop without any problems. I shut it off and plugged it in to charge. Now when I went on everything is missing. My icons, my background, basically everything is not the same. I tried clicking "view icons" and that did not work. I don't know what is going on. Can you please help?
