How do I open an .aspx file?

I have just downloaded an .aspx file.  Windows 7 doesn't know how to open.  How can I open it?

An .ASPX file is a collection of processing routines written in Visual Basic Script. They are typically run from a web server or similar calling program by passing parameters into one or more of the routines.

If you try double-clicking the file, you are attempting to run it. When run out-of-context, e.g. not from a calling program, the .ASPX file can do nothing but damage.

If you want to see the underlying script commands, right click it and select Edit. The file should open in Notepad and you should be able to read the code.

    To save the aspx file on your computer and view it as a PDF, you right click on the disk icon that appears when you move your mouse pointer to the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. That pops up a small menu with one option being "Save as". That pops up the screen allowig you to save the file as a PDF. My computer only gave me the options of saving as an aspx or "All other files". I chose "All other files" then added the extension of PDF to the file name. It saved the file as a PDF and I could then open it with Adobe Acrobat.

    Hope this helps.

    This solution works for my windows 10, Select all files instead of .aspx and then rename what ever you want just add the .pdf to the end. So simple!

    I was in the same situation but on Windows 8. After reading this I tried opeing it with Adobe Reader and it worked straight away. I can open a .aspx file with Adobe Reader and view it as a .pdf. Easy peasy. Hopefully this works the same on Windows 7.
