Original title: Webcam!!!

How do I access my webcam on my computer? It is a built in one and I cannot find it in my computer anywhere! My computer is an Acer and it has windows 7 on it, that's pretty much all I know about it. Please help!!!!

Hi,

Check the Start - All Programs Menu for Camera, WebCam, a Folder/Program with the System Maker's

name or similar to see if you can locate the WebCam software.

Check with the System Maker's Support, their on-line documentation and drivers, and ask in their

forums (if any).

You can try to reload the camera drivers and any camera control software. 

Logon as Admin.

Control Panel - Device Manager - Imaging - write down make and model of camera - double click

on it and on driver's tab get version. Now click Update Drivers (which may not do anything as MS

is far behind certifying drivers). The RIGHT CLICK on the camera - UNINSTALL - REBOOT - this

will refresh the driver stack.

Now go to System Maker's site and download the latest camera driver and other related camera

software (if no newer get the same ones).

Download - SAVE - go to them and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN - reboot after each driver.

Manually look at manufacturer's sites for drivers - and Device Maker's sites.

Then leave windows updates on however stop it from loading drivers which are often older than the

ones you have installed. If Updates suggests a driver then HIDE it and look manually to see if their

really is a newer one (at both system maker and device maker's sites).

    In Windows 10 Home Edition, "Device Manager" is the only place I see  "Integrated Webcam" listed.

    It used to also show up in "Devices & Printers" as well as in "Other Devices" in "Settings" but I haven't seen it in either place since the Windows 10 Feature Update on May 14, 2017.

    So you won't find the webcam in "Programs & Features" or "Apps."

    I don't believe you can run the "Integrated Webcam" independently. After all it's integrated and it pops up naturally when I open webcam related programs/services such as Instagram, Skype, Google Hangouts, and so on.

    I have the same problem since signing up with windows 10, have lots of problems. Cannot get my startup menu. FB and Outlook are always buffering. I would just like to know how to take a pic of myself with my webcam.

    Any answers out there?

    I have a HP 610-1030y touchscreen, which was updated to Win-10 (which unlike other comments, I love!).  I just had never used the webcam and decided to try it.  Couldn't figure out where to turn it on at.

    Followed your steps and finally found the "camera" in the all programs (apps).  Must have over looked it when I checked there.
