How do I reinstall rtl120.bpl?

Original Title: rtl120.bpl?

My computer is telling me that I need to re-install rtl120.bpl. I did not know I had deleted it in the first place and in the second how do I go about re-installing it if I don't have it any more?

It would have helped to have the complete error message so I wouldn't have to guess, but rtl120.bpl appears to be related to something called "TuneUp Utilities 2010."  Further, some anti-virus applications apparently were detecting this file as a Trojan horse (and thus deleting it or quarantining it) although those "false positive" detections were from Dec. 2009 and I would have expected the issue to have been long since dealt with.

Assuming that you have something like TuneUp Utilities 2010 installed, I suggest that you uninstall it.  As a general rule, such utilities don't provided much benefit (other than to the income of the vendor) but have the potential for causing problems to your system.  If you can't uninstall whatever it is from Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, you will probably succeed with free Revo Uninstaller.

    rtl120.bpl is also related to AVG programs. I ran into the same error message when my computer kept telling me my AVG Antivirus was no longer working after having worked great for years. In the process of trying to get it working again, Revo came along. I've already spent money with Revo to fix everything with more money due to be paid by 9/7/14, and I still do not have AVG working on my PC.

    When I went online to install rtl120.bpl, I received a lot of negative info along with offers to fix it. I've not done anything regarding those offers because they involve downloading a lot of unwanted third party users. Since I've already paid Revo to fix things, I'm going to rely on them.

    hey. the last reply: (woodhallandwillowtra) was the only one in this hole thread that made any progress. this thread was givin to me by a tech and i hope it is still open.

    I received this error mess., (rtl120.bpl missing when on boot.

    each time it, (my win (rt?) 8.1 that is three weeks old) will state that : AsusTray.exe cannot run as the file 'rtl120.bpl' is missing: (or something very similar). I have also received the same error mess for RealTimeProtector.exe and AscTray.exe, Both i assume r for advanced system care 7, but AsusTray.... ?? The brand of comp i have is asus.

    i also assumed (earlier) that this had somthing to do with a setting in asc and proceded to reinstall that program. (after 2 failed attempts to 'refresh' (restore points). both of wich claimed my antivirus had something to do with. (my Mcaffee just ran out and i installed AVG instead.?)

    when i reinstalled i realized that i installed the full (trial) version not the free version that i had previosly. would this not put the file back?

    i have stopped receiving the mess. for Real time and ASCTray. but i still get it for AsusTray.exe.

    Now on win 8 we have apps on the start page and all of them 'will not work' they either tell me to let the administrator know of the problem, or flash once and show the desktop instead. the button to open/minimize/close is on the taskbar but will only flash and not open.

    this sucks as it includes the 'pc settings' app and am not familiar enough with win 8.1. last comp.s were windows xp/vista/seven.

    any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I searched my PC for this item, it was present in five applications. Advance System Care, and their own un-installer, Smart de-frag, and a couple more. I put it on a memory stick and went to help my mate out. We right clicked on the icons and chose 'find target' then pasted this little piece into the folders. Reboot. All is well.

    If anyone else needs it I'll upload it to my cloud and send you a link.
