Windows Update error 0x8007066A or 66A

Hello,

I get Windows Update error “0x8007066A” or “66A” when installing updates using Windows Update or Microsoft Update, Is this a known issue? How do I fix this?

    Please take the time to read the post before replying, as it is stated that this has already been tried and failed.  Also, I can not utilize links going to non-micosoft sites (especially one our virus software has blocked for known spam or copyright issues) from this forum, so please do not include another link like that.

    This error is actually caused by an issue with .NET Framework 4. You can resolve the issue by doing a repair of .NET Framework 4. See this KB article on how that’s done.
