Event says when my system froze that "The DgiVecp service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified."

I found  the exact problem that causes this freezes. My computer freezed today at 20:17. I went to the event viewer and found that at that time there is an event says that "The DgiVecp service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified."

Is there anyone who knows about it?

Press Enter

Navigate to the following key:

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

 Look for an entry listed as DgiVecp

 If you find this, then change the Start data value to 4.

 Reboot the system and see if the message is gone.

Event ID 6008 - is it still showing up in Event Viewer?  Possibilities were heat, video drivers, faulty devices, failing HD's etc

    Firefox causing BSOD thread - see ZigZag3143's response dated 12/26/2010

    here's the procedure:

    • Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
    • Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
    • Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
    • Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"

    NOTE: You can use Low Resource Simulation if you'd like. From my limited experimentation it makes the 's come faster.

    • Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"

    Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"

    • Select "Finish" on the next page.Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

    Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

    i am using firefox and it is 32 bit. The os is windows 7 professional 32 bit. What is your point is usb causing this freezes? I read the article for this error too many times it does not say anything for my situation i cannot make clear what is causing this problem.

    What browser version are you using?  IE 8 or IE 9?

    Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit browser?

    When the browser opens look at Help | About Internet Explorer. If there's no mention of 64-bit, the 32-bit version is the default.

    If it's a Win7 64-bit computer, you have two versions of Internet Explorer: IE 32-bit (the default) and IE 64-bit (cannot be the default). Shortcuts to both should be listed in your Start menu.
