Had the same issue after a 'helpful' windows 10 update.  I wish they tested updates before shipping them out!!!

I found wldcore.dll in an older folder and had to copy it to lots of places before I found the right one.  Windows live/mail .. windows mail both in programs and programs(86).  Cant remember which was the last one ( I think windows mail) but it now works and I haven't lost the accounts.  I did try reloading windows live and of course it didn't work.

I tried this with no luck. The move dll filles fix works though.

If I could find the full download file that could be another option. Usualy when you run the install it woulds say "these programs need updating" and everythings golden.

There have not been any update to install since at least January 2013. I'd reinstall completely if I had an easy backup.

I fixed this issue by going to control panel and uninstall and it brings up a repair option, that fixed it,it might be worth a go.

The copying of the files works but I can only fear that I'll forget I did this and something weird will happen(windows fixes something on these files and doesn't notice we moved files and doesn't update them as well). I was kind of hoping the fix with adding the "path" for the files in the environmental variables would have worked so I didn't have to move files but that didn't seem to work.

Here the info on the updating the path variables. Just make sure your carefull. https://www.infopackets.com/news/9488/wldcoredll-missing-windows-live-mail-wont-start

Thanks for the heads up on this. Still strange I didn't notice this happening sooner(current new update?).
