If your computer is having problems finding and installing operating system updates, try using a Windows Update troubleshooter to fix the problem

Open the Windows Update troubleshooter by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under System and Security, click Fix problems with Windows Update.

    Hi gernotlg,

    If you have not already, try the troubleshooting steps Jose posted. These steps should also work for Windows Vista.

    If you are still experiencing issues, please create a new thread here. In the new thread please include the following:

    ·         Make and model of your computer

    ·         Complete version of Windows you have installed

    ·         All error messages received

    ·         All troubleshooting steps tried
